Before & After your appointment
Okay, but for real.. how bad does it hurt?
Pain is personal, but most clients say it’s quicker and easier than they imagined—just a quick pinch. We’ll guide you through breathing and prep you every step of the way so you feel calm and confident.
How should I prepare for my piercing appointment?
Before Your Appointment:
- Eat a light snack 30–60 minutes beforehand to help keep your blood sugar steady.
- Avoid caffeine, alcohol, and recreational drugs for at least 24 hours—they can increase bleeding and sensitivity.
- Stay hydrated and make sure you’re well-rested.
- Complete your consent forms online ahead of time, if possible.
- Bring a valid ID. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, each with proper identification.
- Wear comfortable clothing that allows easy access to the area being pierced (e.g., avoid high-neck tops for cartilage piercings).

- Avoid submerging in pools, lakes, or hot tubs during healing.
- Don’t sleep directly on your new piercing. (we have piercing pillows available if you need one!)

- Try your best to be gentle—no snagging or tugging on clothing or hair.
- If you experience swelling, redness, or discharge beyond normal healing, reach out ASAP.
Every client leaves with a curated aftercare package—complete with easy-to-follow instructions and everything you need to keep your new piercing happy and healing beautifully.
What should I NOT do after getting pierced?
To avoid irritation or infection:
- Don’t touch your piercing with unwashed hands
- Don’t apply alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, or antibiotic creams—they delay healing
- Don’t remove the jewelry before it’s fully healed
FAQS
What kind of jewelry do you use for piercing?
We only pierce with implant-grade titanium—aka the gold standard for both fresh and healed piercings.
It’s hypoallergenic, nickel-free, medical-grade, and super lightweight (but strong!).
Want to be extra sure? Look for these certifications:
ASTM F-136
ASTM F-67
ISO 5832-3
Can I bring my own jewelry to be pierced with?
For safety reasons, we don’t allow outside jewelry to be used for piercings.
We only pierce with high-quality, implant-grade materials that meet strict standards for hygiene, safety, and healing. This ensures the best possible outcome for your new piercing—because your health comes first!
Why is Titanium better than other metals?
Titanium is:
- Nickel-free, so it won’t cause allergic reactions
- Strong yet lightweight, making it comfy for everyday wear
- Durable and resistant to bending or breaking
- Anodizable, meaning it can be safely colored without losing quality
Want it more casual, playful, or technical?
What piercings do you offer?
We offer a full range of curated ear piercings, including:
- Lobe
- Upper Lobe / Third Lobe (Stack)
- Helix
- Forward Helix
- Flat
- Conch
- Tragus
What are flat back earrings & why do you use them?
Flat-back earrings are designed with a disc that sits flush against the back of your ear, making them more secure and less likely to snag. They’re also more comfortable to sleep in and ideal for healing because they reduce irritation and pressure. To ensure maximum safety and comfort, we use threadless or internally threaded options.
What kind of needles do you use?
We use single-use, hollow needles for all piercings. These are:
- Sterile and precise
- Far less traumatic to the tissue than piercing guns
- Designed for optimal healing
Do you pierce minors?
Quick answer...YES, but there are important requirements:
- Parent/guardian must be present
- Photo ID for both the minor and parent/guardian is required
- Lobe piercing only
NO younger than 6 months of age.
Bring only the child being pierced, no extra kids please.
Can I bring a friend or my kids?
We understand that having support can make a big difference! You’re welcome to bring one friend or support person with you. For safety and hygiene reasons, children who aren’t getting pierced aren’t allowed in the procedure room.
What if I'm pregnant or nursing?
From a mama to a mama:
For your safety and well-being, we do not pierce clients who are pregnant or nursing. Since your body is already busy healing and adapting, we want to ensure your immune system can fully support you and your little one during this important time.
Additional Questions
How long does a piercing take to heal?
Healing times vary depending on placement:
- Earlobes: 6–8 weeks
- Cartilage: 4–12 months
Sticking with your aftercare is essential. Just because your piercing looks healed doesn’t mean it’s time to stop—keeping up the care helps avoid irritation and rejection.
Can I change the jewelry before it's fully healed?
We know you're excited BUT:
We strongly recommend waiting until the full healing period is complete before switching jewelry. Changing it too soon can lead to irritation, infection, or a piercing closing.
Do you offer jewelry upgrades or downsizing?
Absolutely! We suggest scheduling a downsize appointment partway through your healing process. As swelling goes down after a few weeks, switching to a shorter post can help prevent irritation, snags, and bumps. We’ll let you know the best time to come in for this during your appointment.
